With a combined crude oil refining capacity of more than 800,000 barrels per day, Flint Hills Resources produces a wide range of refined products in Alaska, Minnesota and Texas. Supply for the refineries is secured through crude oil purchasing offices located in Calgary, Denver and Houston.
Refined products are distributed through a system of pipelines, some common carrier and some Flint Hills Resources-owned, and terminals that deliver diesel, gasoline, jet fuel and asphalt to customers. In some regions, fuels are purchased from or exchanged with local fuel and pipeline companies.
The company has committed significant time, talent and resources to continuously improve its operations and its efficient use of resources. As a result, the company’s emissions of commonly regulated substances, on a per-barrel basis, are 60 percent lower than the average of the 50 largest refineries in the United States, according to the latest available federal and industry data.
